Relatives' Group on Depression

In many cases, when a family member suffers from a depressive disorder, those who are suffering from it take on important tasks in caring for the sick person and must find ways to deal with their often stressful life situation.

In order to support the relatives of people with depression in their efforts and to give them the opportunity to get detailed information about the disease depression, to clarify questions about the treatment options and to talk about domestic problems in dealing with the sick family member were on the open wards have been set up for groups led by doctors, to which all relatives of people with depression treated at these wards are cordially invited.

The groups are open to relatives of people with depression and usually take place once a month. The next appointment can be obtained from the ward's medical or nursing team, where your relative is treated.

Relatives' Group on Dementia

Education about dementia and recommendations for dealing with patients are of key importance to affected families. We therefore offer groups for relatives who provide information and room to discuss problems in a structured program.

We want you to be well advised!

A well-informed patient will recover faster and stay healthy longer.

A good course of treatment requires the assurance of your economic, professional and personal circumstances. Appropriate measures after inpatient treatment make a decisive contribution to the success of the treatment.

As a specialist consulting service in the hospital, we want to support your personal treatment goal and find individual solutions for you even in difficult situations. We are subject to confidentiality. You can contact us via the treatment team or contact us directly.

Here you will find the contact details for our team .

Within the inpatient and outpatient treatment services, doctors, psychologists, social workers and the nursing team work closely together with the goal of a good social integration of sick people.
In this sense, patients are advised and assisted in medical and professional reintegration processes, as well as in the search for a suitable form of living (such as assisted living, temporary hostels, therapeutic residential communities).

Intensive medical networking with established colleagues and their own outpatient clinics facilitates the transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment and pursues the goal of stable, continuous medium and long-term treatment.

Likewise, there is a close link with the relatives. Regular meetings with therapists take place in the clinic.

Relatives of people with dementia have regular family groups .

Staff members of the clinic are active members of the working group Dementia of the City of Bonn.

There is a close exchange with the Bonn Alzheimer's Society, which meets regularly in the clinic premises.

An intensive and fruitful networking takes place with the Alliance for Depression eV and the Relatives Association for the mentally ill eV.
