Trauma spectrum disorders
Target Group
In our special outpatient clinic for trauma sequelae, which specialises above all in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD, outpatient preliminary consultations are held for intensive trauma psychotherapy, which is carried out exclusively on an inpatient basis (Jaspers ward) in our clinic.
In addition, short outpatient follow-up treatments are carried out in our outpatient clinic for patients who have already completed trauma psychotherapy on Jaspers ward. Furthermore, we also offer detailed differential diagnostic clarification of trauma sequelae on an outpatient basis.
Therapy procedures (trauma psychotherapy on Jaspers ward)
After a brief psychological and medical diagnostic phase, a multi-stage integrative trauma psychotherapy (i.e. encompassing several therapy schools) is offered, centred on the following three focal points:
- Stabilisation and resource activation
- Exposure (i.e. repeated confrontation with details of traumatic experiences using different psychotherapeutic methods)
- Identification and regulation of trauma-associated feelings and cognitions
These three focal points are each dealt with using different psychotherapeutic methods across the different therapy schools, whereby the choice of methods is made individually, i.e. adapted to the particular needs of our patients.
At the patient's request or in the presence of comorbid mental illnesses, this complex traumapsychotherapeutic treatment can be combined with medication.
