"The department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine is works in all four areas of modern Anaesthesiology: In addition to anaesthesia and intraoperative management of patients during surgery our department also treats all patients in surgical critical care units, covers the emergency medicine and is providing special pain service for postoperative patients as well as for chronic pain patients."

Every year the department of Anaesthesiology takes care of more than 28.000 patients during surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. For this purpose the specialist in
all areas of anaesthesiology are applying the most advanced methods, procdures and therapies at the scientific cutting edge of modern medicine.

Focus of Treatment:

Anaesthesiology
Balanced, intravenous as well as regional anesthesia techniques, postoperative pain treatment, hemody- namic monitoring using invasive catheter procedures (thermodilution, pulscontour- analysis) transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and brain monitoring by electroencaphalography




Intensive Care
General Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro- and Neurorehabilitative Intensive Care

Medical Emergency Team
Pain Medicine
Outpatient treatment of patients with chronic pain; multimodal inpatient pain management; postoperative pain management with 24/7 care; consultancy for pain care of hospitalized patients
